“But I don’t want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked.
“Oh, you can’t help that,” said the Cat: “we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.”
“How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice.
“You must be,” said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
Headband: Charming Charlie
My search for the best and easiest Halloween costume continues. Being Alice really only calls for a blue dress and a headband, although I wish I had a small white rabbit to carry around. Truthfully, I did not much dare for Alice in Wonderland when I was growing up. I wanted to slap some sense into the Mad Hatter, and I found the Cheshire Cat creepy. And, what was that horrible incident with the oysters… Now, I think I have a better appreciation of the odd mix of wisdom and the absurd.
