Book of the Month Club

Love reading and getting packages in the mail? Me, too! That’s why I wanted to try Book of the Month Club, a subscription box that combines reading with happy mail. I was intrigued by this monthly box because you get to choose your monthly read from a selection of books curated by judges.

Here’s a look at the February selections…

While a monthly subscription is $16.99 and only includes one book, you can, also, add up to two additional books for $9.99 each. The February Guest Judge was The TODAY Show host Hoda Kotb who chose The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom as her selection. Her video on why she chose this book sold me on Mitch Albom’s novel, so that was the book I selected for February.

While I haven’t started my book yet, I’m pleased with this subscription. The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto only came out last November, so it’s nice to find a new book I would have otherwise overlooked. Also, depending on the book you choose, there can be a nice savings off what you would pay on Amazon, and the savings increase if you choose more than one book.

Since I have an ever growing book pile, I don’t think I’ll do this subscription every month, but it was fun to try and would make a cool gift.

While I lucked out and found a promo code to try this subscription for a dollar, there is currently a promo code to get $10 off a 3 or 12 month subscription: BOOK10. If you are interested in trying Book of the Month Club, I’d love it if you used my referral link so I can earn a free book!

What do you think of Book of the Month Club?

P.S. I just saw Pride and Prejudice and Zombies today. Such a fun movie!

  1. This is a pretty cool service IMO. I wonder if they have something similar in Canada. I think bookstores should do something like this, where u can even pick the genre. That would pretty cool:)
