FOTMC Snape Tribute Box

Got to love geeky jewelry that supports a wonderful cause. See what's inside the Fandom of the Month Club Snape Tribute box!

We are only a few months into 2016 and already this year has seen the passing of some wonderful entertainers, including the brilliant Alan Rickman. I first became a fan of Alan Rickman when he played Colonel Brandon in Sense and Sensibility, but he became a pop culture icon when he played Severus Snape in the Harry Potter films. Like millions of other fans, I was heartbroken to hear he died, and when I discovered that @thegeekycauldron was putting together a Snape tribute box, I knew I had to purchase one. A portion of every box went to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children’s Cancer Treatment and Research, and over $8,000 were donated from the sales.

Here’s what’s inside my Snape tribute box…

After all this time? Always. cuff bracelet

The box is a beautiful tribute to an unforgettable character. I love how the jewelry references memorable scenes in the films. For instance, the 394 ring is inspired by this scene, and I dare you not to shed a tear over the always scene, which inspired the cuff bracelet.

What do you think of the Snape tribute box?

  1. Thanks for sharing that! I’m a FotM member, but I declined that box because I just couldn’t handle it. I still can’t. 🙁
But everything in there is beautiful, and I love that there’s a mix of recognizable Snape and subtle Snap references. It’s interesting people see his love for Lily as such a defining characteristic of his….I mean, it was a major element of his life. But he was also brilliant at potions, and a dedicated teacher and friend to Dumbledore.

  2. That is all kinds of awesome!

Would you believe it, I’ve never received a subscription box of any kind before. We have a lot fewer options for such here in Canada (or ones from abroad that ship to this country, let alone at a price that isn’t more costly than the box itself), but one of these days, I would like to give one a spin. Chances are, it will be fashion related. 🙂

    Wishing you a terrific weekend,
    ♥ Jessica

  3. Oh, thank you for sharing. I’ve been so curious as to what they’d put int his box. I’ve never been that big of a fan of the Snape character (I mean, he’s interesting, morally grey and ultimately such an unhappy person, but not as engaging to me as most of the other characters) but I have always really liked Alan Rickman (first saw him in Sense and Sensibility too!) and thought this was such a lovely way to pay tribute to the man.

The items all seem so well chosen too- very tasteful yet all pretty and useful and subtle nods to the fandom/character.
