Historical dramas are my thing. I love the costumes, the scenery, the romance of a series set in a different time. If I could only watch one genre for the rest of my days, I would watch historical dramas.
This week I’m sharing some of my favorite historical dramas over at SheKnows. One of the great things about this list is that each title is currently available to stream on Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Hulu, making them perfect for binge-watching.
Here are a few of my favorites:
♥ The 1995 version of Pride and Prejudice obviously made the list because I heart Mr. Darcy and all things Jane Austen.
♥ Much like the novel it’s based on, the BBC series North and South is under appreciated but an absolute must watch if you are a fan of the brooding male hero, which of course you are if you like historical dramas.
♥ Poldark is a relatively new series, and while the series can be a little slow at times, there are gorgeous costumes and scenery and one very broody hero, so you should really watch this.
♥ Rounding out the list is Downton Abbey, which probably doesn’t surprise you since I make no secret of my love for this show. Honestly, the first two seasons were the best, but the entire series is worth a watch because the period details are amazing. Also, I wrote a post about why you should watch it.
