I just figured out how to do Snapchat filters (thanks Sana!), and I finally understand why everyone is so obsessed with them. Of course, this got me thinking about Halloween, and how fun and easy it would be to do a filter inspired look. The flower crown filter quickly stole my inner flower child’s heart. Glowing skin + Sparkly eyes + Flower crown = Win. Here’s how to get the look in real life.
Snapchat Flower Crown Filter Beauty DIY
Face: To get a sunlit glow, I mixed equal amounts of Simple Kind To Skin Protecting Light Moisturizer SPF 15, Physicians Formula Argan Wear Renew BB Cream, Benefit Cosmetics Dew The Hoola Matte Liquid Bronzer, and
It Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination SPF 50+ and smoothed the custom color on my face. To clean up my under eye circles, I patted on It Cosmetics Travel Size Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer.
Eyes: For sparkly eyes, I swiped on a champagne colored eyeshadow (Chantilly Lace from the Sephora Wonder Dreams palette). To get a wide eyed look, I used It Cosmetics Travel Size Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara, which gives major lashes without the need of falsies.
Lips and Cheeks: To recreate the subtle blush of the filter, I swirled Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Blushing Bride. I lined my lips with Stila Lip Liner Contour No. 16 and topped them off with 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Pomegranate Oil Anti Aging Lipstick in Foxglove.
Flower Crown: I used pipe cleaners and silk flowers for my festival ready headpiece. You can see my tutorial here.
