Help Me Choose My Glasses: Warby Parker

It is a truth universally acknowledged that four eyes are better than two – mostly because it means you get to wear cute glasses. I need to update my prescription, so I’m on the hunt for some stylish new frames. I’m starting my shopping journey with Warby Parker, the company that changed the way glasses are sold online and made frames sexy again.

If you're shopping for new prescription glasses, don't miss the Home Try-On program from Warby Parker. Here are the 5 frames I picked...

I love that for every purchase, Warby Parker will donate a pair of eyeglasses to someone in need. Living in a fuzzy world is no fun, let me tell you. Glasses start at $95 (including prescription lenses), and the selection is awesome. Round. Square. Rectangle. Cat-eye. Plus, many of the frames come in different colors.

While shopping for prescription glasses online can be tricky, Warby Parker offers a Home Try-On program that lets you check out 5 frames for free (although they do charge your credit card a dollar). The lenses are non-prescription, so Home Try-On is strictly for seeing how the frames look and fit on you.

Here are the 5 frames I chose…

Color: Bellini

Price: Starting at $95, including prescription lenses

Verdict: Pass. I’m not wild about the color and the frame shape feels a little old fashioned to me.

Warby Parker Home Try-On Chilton frames

The two frames I really like from this batch are the Oliver and the Chilton. I might look at a few other companies before making a decision since I only shop for glasses every couple of years. Let me know which pair you like best!

  1. some great looks. I used to have glasses and hated them.. wore contacts regularly. And then a few years ago splurged on LASIK.. and am so happy I did.
I envy the people who can pull off glasses and still look so chic

  2. They all look good and I do not think you could go wrong with any of them. But if I had to vote -because it IS almost election day 🙂 , I think I would vote for the Chilton.

  3. I’m a huge lover of glasses, so much I wear non-prescriptions ones all the time. The guy I’m dating wears glasses, and I must admit he’s not as cute when he takes them off lol. I love businesses that give back Ashley! So many people are in need, and I would never think about giving someone the gift of sight, but I’m sure some needy people can’t afford eyeglasses, which is sad. I like the Anders glasses on you; they can seem a little granny-ish, but you make them look youthful and hip 🙂

  4. I’ll be honest, I’m not loving any of them that much- except the last pair. They look pretty good; my only concern would be whether the blue color was too limiting. However, it is a more subtle color so it feels like you are wearing the glasses rather than the glasses wearing you. But the style looks great for your face 🙂

    Glasses shopping is hard.

  5. Oh I love the boldness of the Oliver pair – that red colour is lovely with your hair colour, but I think the Chilton are my favourites. It’s great you get to try on at home so you can spend some time deciding – I always end up flustered and pick too quickly when I’m in store!

Hope you’re having a wonderful start to the week 🙂

  6. That’s really good that they give a pair to people in need for every purchase! I would say the Chilton pair is the best, but I loved all of them, though some you said pass. So then, the Chilton 🙂 It’s so nice and you look so beautiful! The color makes it all sweeter! Hope you have a nice week!

  7. What a fun post! I really like the two you are undecided on, too and your shirt really went with those, too! I wear contacts and would love to do LASIK eventually, but I will wear glasses from time to time if my eyes are tired or if I want to add a little something to a fashion post or outfit.
