Life Lately: OMG it’s February Edition

Life lately... here's a look at what I'm reading, watching, and making.

Re-reading: I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. This delightful comfort read is a coming of age story set in a rundown English castle. It has one of my favorite opening sentences ever, “I write this sitting in the kitchen sink.” Doesn’t it make you want to know more?

Watching: So much TV. There was the Doctor Who Christmas special, which I loved. Then, there was the new season of Sherlock, which was so dark and sad but still so good. Currently, I’m watching Victoria on PBS, which I feel meh about. They are taking quite a few historical liberties, but I keep watching anyway.

Listening to: Epic Soundtracks Radio on Pandora. Love listening to this mix when I’m on the treadmill.

Making: A sailor top and a crocheted unicorn. I found a free trial for Creativebug, and I’m having a lot of fun exploring their different online classes. These tees are on my to-make list.

Life lately... I'm making these book themed ID bracelets for my new Etsy store, ShoppeRoundACorner.

Setting up: An Etsy shop! My mom and I are putting together a book themed store, ShoppeRoundACorner. Currently, you can find bead ID bracelets, a book log, and planner printables, but more is coming soon.

Excited about: The Sweet Progress Winter Galentine’s Box Swap I’m co-hosting with Dean! Sign up end February 7th.

P.S. Today I’m linking up with Kristen and  Gretchen.

  1. “I write this sitting in the kitchen sink” That is the best start of a book I’ve ever hear. I’m ordering this on Amazon right now! I can’t wait for the launch of your Etsy store! I need one of these cute little bracelets

  2. I’ve never read I Capture the Castle, but it’s been on my list- it seems like a lovely read (and re-read). 🙂
I’m excited about your Etsy shop- and good luck with the Creativebug course projects! 😀

  3. How awesome that you are setting up an Etsy shop! Good for you! And so fun to do it with your mom. I’m going to check it out now! 🙂

    1. Thanks for letting me know. I’m working with VigLink on the issue, but there’s a link to continue to my store on the bottom right hand corner 🙂

  4. I Capture the Castle is on my shelf at home – that line totally makes me want to know more. i’m hoping to get to it some time this year lol. i am behind on Doctor Who – one day i’ll have a big binge rewatch and catch up – and I haven’t seen the new Sherlock yet. I have the Victoria book from the library so I was going to read that before watching the show but ugh.. it annoys me when they change things/take liberties.. though sometimes it works if it’s entertaining.. we’ll see.
    OMG that bead bracelet. SWOON.

  5. I’m so excited for you and your mom!! I’m loving the shop, I cannot wait to see what else you list. I already have my eye on a few goodies. 🙂 Okay, I’m debating on getting something for myself or the teacup bracelet for my tea-drinking bibliophile daughter. I’ll have to share her shop with you, she loves Etsy.

I’m so excited about the swap!!! I cannot wait to receive my package, I think it comes TODAY. 🙂
