How I bullet journal in my Happy Planner (Giveaway!)

As a paper planner lover, I've learned how to use the bullet journal system in my Happy Planner!

The bullet journal has taken the Internet by storm or at least the parts of the Internet obsessed with paper planners. I’ve used the bullet journal system for a few years now, but because I’m such a rebel, I’ve given it my own twist.

How I bullet journal in my Happy Planner…

Planner Supplies:

As a paper planner lover, I've learned how to use the bullet journal system in my Happy Planner! Now my planner is a diary and a schedule keeper.

Bullet journaling uses a series of symbols to keep track of things. I use the box to mark a task, a circle for an event, an eye for something I want to look up, and a dot to mark a note. The task, event, and note symbols I use all the time in my daily columns. I use event stickers as well as the circle symbol for important events like an audition or a class. The stickers help me quickly flip through my planner to find similar events.

I use Happy Planner note page inserts in my monthly overview to track upcoming events and things I want to look up. And, I use an insert at the end of the month to track my monthly spending.

As a paper planner lover, I've learned how to use the bullet journal system in my Happy Planner! Now my planner is a diary and a schedule keeper.

My favorite part of my planner is the monthly overview because I use it as a sentence a day journal. Each square is just the right size for a sentence or two about my day.

  1. Looks great..would definitely make it more fun.
But also more work.. I usually just use my phone and then a large erasable calendar decal on the wall to help organize the lives of the entire family.

  2. I just purchased a cute little planner and am trying to get in the habit at looking at it daily. I use the calendar on my phone, but I have a weird obsession with crossing things off a list which I just can’t do on my phone. I hope I win!!

  3. Oh, I definitely entered this giveaway. I’m LOVING my Happy Planner this year. It’s the first year I’ve used this one and it’s super handy. I like that you use the bullet journal system of symbols. I think that would be handy. I like to decorate mine. I use the monthly outlook for my life events and the day to day pages for blog stuff and a list of what I ate during the day when I’m at work.

  4. I have had an EC planner for a couple of years now, but it is mainly for my blog. I love the idea of using symbols and I didn’t even really know about bullet journaling until reading this post. Interesting and how useful!!!

  5. Love how your bullet journal looks:) I’ve seen tons of vids how to do it coz I am really interested in anything about journalling, but alas, I haven’t bitten the bullet yet. Maybe soon:)

  6. A happy planner, bullet journaling, it all makes me so extremely happy! Like seriously I get so excited just thinking about it!

  7. What a fun giveaway! Just entered and filled out the survey 🙂 I love my Simplified Planner, but don’t do all the decorating (though if I had the stickers/swag, I def would!)–I just don’t know how I ever survived without one!

  8. Bullet journals are so great! I used to use one all the time and now I use a planner, but I still use a lot of the components of one. I have been meaning to write a post about it. Thanks for the giveaway opp! Sounds amazing!

  9. This is really nice and beautiful, a very nice idea to make it all colorful and personal! I like agendas, and the more colorful, the better! Hope you have a lovely day!

  10. I already have a planner that I love! But when did planning become so expensive and trendy?? Heheh I totally bought into it!

  11. I love using the Happy Planner too! It is just the right whimsy for me. The only thing that bugs me is the huge font size for the holiday notations on the monthly page. Not enough space left for my own entry.

I carried over some concepts of bullet journaling in my planner as well.
