The bullet journal has taken the Internet by storm or at least the parts of the Internet obsessed with paper planners. I’ve used the bullet journal system for a few years now, but because I’m such a rebel, I’ve given it my own twist.
How I bullet journal in my Happy Planner…
Bullet journaling uses a series of symbols to keep track of things. I use the box to mark a task, a circle for an event, an eye for something I want to look up, and a dot to mark a note. The task, event, and note symbols I use all the time in my daily columns. I use event stickers as well as the circle symbol for important events like an audition or a class. The stickers help me quickly flip through my planner to find similar events.
I use Happy Planner note page inserts in my monthly overview to track upcoming events and things I want to look up. And, I use an insert at the end of the month to track my monthly spending.
My favorite part of my planner is the monthly overview because I use it as a sentence a day journal. Each square is just the right size for a sentence or two about my day.
