The thing about spring in the Midwest is that you never know what the weather is going to be like. One day it’s 30 degrees and you’re bundled up in your winter coat. The next day, possibly even that afternoon, it’s 80 degrees, and you can’t remember why you’re wearing so many layers. This DIY cocoon cardigan is great for days when you don’t know if it’s going to be chilly or warm. Plus, it only has two seams, so it’s the easiest thing to sew.
If you want to make your own cocoon cardigan, I highly recommend checking out the Cocoon Cardigan class from Creativebug. The video is only 12 minutes long and will show you how to quickly whip up this cute cocoon cardigan. (Get Creativebug for 1 Month + 1 Class For Just $1!)
One of my goals this year is to use up my fabric stash, and this project was perfect for some knit fabric that’s been taking up space for ages. The fabric worked out wonderfully for this cardigan since there’s a print on one side and solid black on the other.
I hit the park on a day that started out warm and turned chilly rather quickly. The wind was blowing in a hair-in-my-face sort of way, so needless to say, it was a short stay at the park.
