The easiest DIY cocoon cardigan

The thing about spring in the Midwest is that you never know what the weather is going to be like. One day it’s 30 degrees and you’re bundled up in your winter coat. The next day, possibly even that afternoon, it’s 80 degrees, and you can’t remember why you’re wearing so many layers. This DIY cocoon cardigan is great for days when you don’t know if it’s going to be chilly or warm. Plus, it only has two seams, so it’s the easiest thing to sew.

One of my goals this year is to use up my fabric stash, and this project was perfect for some knit fabric that’s been taking up space for ages. The fabric worked out wonderfully for this cardigan since there’s a print on one side and solid black on the other.

I hit the park on a day that started out warm and turned chilly rather quickly. The wind was blowing in a hair-in-my-face sort of way, so needless to say, it was a short stay at the park.

I can't get enough of these purple Converse sneakers!

Love the shape of this round bag from Baggu!

  1. This is so cute! I love the idea of a cocoon cardigan, I have a couple of poncho wraps that I love layering with that remind me of this!

  2. That cardigan looks great and seems like it would be a cosy cover up! I’ll have to look into making one of my own!
