It’s officially fall, which means it’s time to focus on autumn style goals. While September is proving to be unusually warm (we’re talking 90 degree days), cooler temps are right around the corner. Cozy sweaters, blankets scarves, and stylish boots will all be making appearances this season, but there are a few other pieces I want to focus on in order to up my OOTD game.
My Fall 2017 Style Goals
1. Wear cute flats.
Despite being vertically challenged, I prefer wearing flats instead of heels. A lot of the time I wear ballet flats or sneakers, but I’d like to work a pair of Oxfords or penny loafers into my fall wardrobe.
2. Upgrade my chill out clothes.
Sometimes a girl just needs to throw on a sweatshirt and jeans and call it a day, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still look stylish. A statement making sweatshirt is a great way to look like you put thought into your outfit without actually putting in a lot of effort. I call that a win.
3. Find a pair of go-to hoop earrings.
In high school, I fell in love with a pair of gold hoops I got at Nordstrom for maybe $10. They were my power earrings on days when I needed a little extra confidence. Now, I’m searching for a grownup pair.
4. Invest in a stylish coat.
As much as I dread the return of cold weather, I cannot deny that these 90 degree days will not last forever. It’s been a few years since I bought a wool coat, and my closet is telling me it’s time to upgrade.
5. Find a new everyday bag.
I love bags that are large enough to tote my life around in, but I hate changing bags. Once or twice a year, I like to splurge on a new everyday bag that will get me through the next few months. Rebecca Minkoff is always a favorite.
