Friday Favorites: Netflix and Cheese Plate

When I saw these Tahini Cookies on Shutterbean, I knew I had to try the recipe, and let me tell you, these cookies are good. They’re like a grownup version of peanut butter cookies. Not too sweet. A little smokey. Quite delicious. They, also, handle my gluten-free flour substitution well, so that’s another plus.

Friday Favorites... Gretchen Rubins's new book, The Four Tendencies, is my latest read courtesy of Blogging for Books.

Gretchen Rubins’s new book, The Four Tendencies, is my latest read courtesy of Blogging for Books. I really enjoy Gretchen’s books, especially Better than Before, and The Four Tendencies builds off that framework. Her theory is that people can be divided into four tendencies (Upholder, Obliger, Questioner, and Rebel), and that these tendencies define our habits. There is even a quiz you can take to learn what tendency you are. (FYI I’m a rebel. That explains so much.) I think the book is really interesting, although trying to read it straight through is asking for information overload. It’s a book that definitely gives you a lot to think about, and it’s fun to try to match people with their tendencies.

Friday favorites... This month I took adulting to a new level with a little something I'm calling Netflix and cheese plate.

This month I took adulting to a new level with a little something I’m calling Netflix and cheese plate. I gathered up veggie crisps, dark chocolate, wasabi almonds, roasted grapes, tahini cookies, and sweet and savory goat cheese for a personal-sized cheese plate. Then, I settled in to watch Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and The Man In the High Castle. It was fabulous.

I did a lot of shopping this month, and one of my favorite purchases is this hoodie from Gap.

I did a lot of shopping this month, and one of my favorite purchases is this hoodie from Gap. It’s so soft, and the light blue color goes with so many pieces. I like that it’s logo free and walks the line between athleisure and casual wear. Also, it’s currently on sale, so you might want to head over to Gap right now.

my local library had a book sale, so of course, I had to go and buy a bag of books.

Speaking of shopping, my local library had a book sale, so of course, I had to go and buy a bag of books. I have piles and piles of unread books, but I can’t say no to a book rescue. One of my favorite finds is this Emily Starr set, which I am looking forward to reading for the Modern Mrs. Darcy Book Club.

This month's Friday favorites include a must make cookie recipe, my new favorite hoodie, and my favorite way to adult - Netflix and cheese plate.Click To Tweet

  1. Tahini cookies sound amazing! Hear so much about Gretchen Ruben—will look for this book (and yes, digest in small pieces!). Have a great weekend, my sweet 🙂

  2. A Netflix and cheese plate sounds pretty perfect to me! It’s going to be raining on Sunday here so that might be how I spend my time!

  3. I LOVED the Man in the High Castle!!! One of my favorite shows. Did you watch both seasons? I can’t wait for the next one. That cheese plate looks amazing! And I have that sweatshirt from the Gap in a burgundy color. Love it!

  4. This is my kind of Netflix and chill nights. I’ve always been a huge fan of cheese plates, and I’ve even made a few that turned out to be delicious recently. One of my blogger friends posted a recipe for Tahini cookies and I’m dying to try them. I’m a huge fan of Miss Fisher’s Mysteries, but I have yet to watch The Man In the High Castle. I’m going to indulge soon.

  5. Yesterday, I went on a day date with my husband. Actually, it was more like we squeezed in a lunch between DMV visits, but it was lovely nonetheless. We went to a cute French bistro, we had the best charcuterie board!! I only sampled the cheeses, because I’m trying to stay dairy-free, but man did I wish I had went all in on the cheese. 🙂
