Last minute Halloween costume: Amy Pond

Every year I like to post a few last minute Halloween costume ideas. It’s fun to dig through my closet and see how many costumes I can come up with. Some of my favorites include a circus performer, Rosie the Riveter, and an 1920’s It Girl. Of course, if you need a very last minute costume, my favorite is Amy Pond from Doctor Who. One of my favorite story-lines from the show deals with the Silence, a very creepy looking monster that you forget as soon as you look away from it.

What I love about this costume is that all you really need is a sharpie or liquid eyeliner to make hash marks. People mark themselves to keep track of how many Silence they have seen.

Make random tally marks on exposed skin. To really get into character, carry a marker and randomly mark yourself throughout the night. When people ask you what you’re doing, say you don’t remember…

Another thing I like about this costume is the excuse to wear a plaid shirt. Plaid is just so fall, and chances are that you have at least one plaid shirt in your closet.

Keep your makeup simple with a little foundation, blush, mascara, and liquid eyeliner. Pin your hair back, and you are good to go.

Are you dressing up for Halloween?

  1. I am such a fan of Halloween costumes that use what you already have. Great idea! I’ve never seen Doctor Who (I know!) but I love the easy costume inspiration 🙂

  2. I loved the idea, the random tally marks are really such a good idea! I would have never thought of that, this is really great! Loved the shirt 🙂 I used to dress up for Halloween up to some years ago… now not anymore, and I so miss it 🙁 Hope you have a sweet day!

  3. Wow! That’s a really creepy storyline. It reminds me of the silent monsters in Buffy the Vampire Slayer that took everyone’s voices….great idea for the costume!

  4. Eeeks… I still haven’t watched an episode of Doctor Who, so I had to cheat to find out who Amy Pond was. You make Amy pond look gorgeous!
