Friday Favorites: Chocolate body scrub and other good things

Can you believe October is almost over? Here are a few awesome things I discovered this month including a delicious chocolate body scrub and an awesome book club.

Modern Mrs. Darcy Book Club

I’ve never been part of a book club, but how could I say no to this online community of book lovers? October’s books are Young Jane Young by Gabrielle Zevin and So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed by Jon Ronson. I probably would not have picked up these books on my own, but I really enjoyed both books. And, I can’t recommend Jon Ronson’s book enough!

Pumpkin Brownies

These brownies just use a few ingredients and are super rich and fudgy. They are not sweet though, so I actually doubled the sugar. Also, these brownies do not taste like pumpkin. These brownies are so chocolate-y, no one will ever guess that pumpkin is the main ingredient.

Simply Scrub

I love taking a hot bath after a long day, so I was very excited when Simply Scrub contacted me about doing a review. The Chocolate Body Scrub smells so good. I was tempted to eat it. The scrub is a mixture of cacao nibs, sweet almond oil, and brown sugar plus cocoa and shea butters and essential oils. This is a great scrub for exfoliating.

The Rose Body Scrub smells delightfully of roses and looks absolutely lovely in the jar. The pretty rose petals are combined with avocado, sweet almond, jojoba, and other essential oils. This scrub looks so pretty in the bath water and feels so decadent.

I was sent a few other samples and am looking forward to trying them, too. And, did I mention the scrubs are 100% organic? Total win.

Gilligan & O’Malley™ Pajamas

A hot bath with delicious body scrubs is one of my favorite ways to unwind, but slipping on a ratty tee and flannel pants totally kills the mood. Then I discovered this hooded pullover and joggers at Target, and suddenly, I’m lounging around the house like a 1990’s Meg Ryan. It’s a great feeling. Plus, these pajamas are so soft. I think I’m going to have to buy all of the colors.

  1. Awww love all your favorites!! Those bath exfoliating scrubs sound amazing and decadent (and delicious!), thanks for sharing!! Also I love to slip on a pair of cozy pjs, too—especially on a cold night!

  2. I have both of those books on my TBR, I really need to get around to reading them–I’ve heard great things about both. And that chocolate scrub looks so good–I’d be tempted to eat it too!

  3. Those pjs look amazingly comfortable. I totally agree with you about luxurious baths thrown off with ratty sleep shirts and shorts!

  4. We just started a book club with our friends, and ‘So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed’ is my husband’s pick for when his turn comes around. Also, that chocolate body scrub looks delicious and so decadent. I love sweet treats for the bath. They feel so luxurious and pampering!
