The Year of Big Questions (Glossies Made Me Do It)

Happy 2018! Welcome to the January edition of Glossies Made Me Do It, a monthly series I am co-hosting with Lauren of Shooting Stars Mag! We are sharing our favorite magazines and what we learned from them. Books, beauty, food, you name it – it’s all fair game in our series. Plus, we’d love for you to join us!

The latest issue of O is once again inspiring the tone of my year, and this time it's all about following your curiosity and asking big questions.

Last January, I was inspired by O Magazine and Oprah’s Year of Adventure, which encouraged readers to try new things. The latest issue of O is once again inspiring the tone of my year, and this time it’s all about following your curiosity and asking big questions.

In “The Wonder Year”, readers are encouraged to make 2018 the Year of Big Questions and to consider this: What if a question could change your life?

I get chills just thinking about it.

This year I want to follow my curiosity and see the world from a new perspective.

Maybe instead of asking “What do I want to do?” I should be asking “Who do I want to be?”

Perhaps it’s time to stop asking “What would I do if I knew I couldn’t fail?” and focus on “What would I want to do even if I might fail?”

Because this year I want to cut out the noise and let go of the idea that busyness defines my worth. This is the year of asking “What truly matters?”

  1. I love this! I tend to get a lot of my inspiration from magazine’s and books. I have always loved Oprah’s magazime and her inspiring topics. I love the big questions for 2018. Def going to be doing a lot of that myself.

  2. Happy New Year! Well my word of the year is DO, so I am grabbing life by the horns and planning some big goals. I have that same book and the Oprah magazine on my reading stack. Can’t wait to get into them.

  3. Ooh, I think my local library has a digital subscription to Oprah’s magazine, so I’ve GOT to check this one out because this is right up my alley. Thanks for the idea!

  4. I’m trying really hard to be allergic to busyness in 2018. So much of what I do is busy work. I want to carve out the time for what’s important – health, happiness, and probably enchiladas and cookies intermittently.

Part of a better year would be getting here more often!

  5. I love the Glossies link-up! I was busy finishing my 2017 Reading Challenge, that I didn’t get a chance to look at my January magazines. I hope to join in February!
