Welcome to the March edition of Glossies Made Me Do It, a monthly series I am co-hosting with Lauren of Shooting Stars Mag! We are sharing our favorite magazines and what we learned from them. Books, beauty, food, you name it – it’s all fair game in our series. Plus, we’d love for you to join us!
How many times have you used a pair of scissors only to realize that they are in fact dull?
Tucked inside the March 2018 issue of Real Simple is a scissors hack that may save you a lot of frustration when it comes to dull scissors. The small blurb in “Now What?!?”suggests folding aluminum foil in half then cutting through it 10-20 times to remove rough edges. I tried the tip with an old pair of sewing scissors, and it really did help the blades cut more smoothly. I don’t think this will replace a nice professional sharpening, but it’s a great tip to know in a pinch.
Have you tried the aluminum foil scissors hack?
What did glossies make you do this month?
