After seeing several reviews about Cravebox, I decided to give the Book and Beauty Box a try. Cravebox offers a variety of boxes from food to books to personal care. You can purchase a box or enter a raffle, which is slightly cheaper but you are not guaranteed to get a box (of course, then you won’t be charged). I opted for the raffle, so my box was $12. The box is a mystery, so I did not know what to expect.
This was the teaser:
Some call them “guilty pleasures.” We prefer “well-earned necessities.” Cravebox brings you a romantic read that will whisk you away from the everyday. Add skin cleansers and care, and decadently rich moisture for body and hair. You deserve it!
- Mistress of My Fate (hard cover) by Hallie Rubenhold
- John Frieda Full Repair Hydrate + Rescue Deep Conditioner
- Biore® samples
- Vaseline® Total Moisture® Lotion
- Arbonne Insert
For the price, I am very impressed. The book alone is worth twice the price. I’m about halfway through Mistress of My Fate, and so far, it is a very good memoir style, historical novel. It is the first in a series, so I am interested to see how the book ends.
I’m, also, loving the John Frieda conditioner. My hair feels softer after using it, so this a product I can see myself re-buying. As for the other products, I already have a lot of lotion, but I can always use more. The samples and insert aren’t that interesting and are just filler to me, but that is no biggie since I’m happy with the three main products.
Have you tried Cravebox? If not, would you be interested trying it?
What makes you feel luminous? A new pair of heels? Awesome feedback from your boss on a project? An afternoon at the spa? I have to admit that the last few months I have not been feeling particularly luminous. It’s not that good things haven’t been happening to me. It’s just that there are so […]
For her birthday, I gave my mom the January Glossybox. It was The Man Repeller‘s Winter Survival Kit, and it was full of all sorts of good things. So when it came to the February box, I had high expectations. The theme for February was International Style, but I found my box lacking in international zest. In […]
Wantable is the first beauty subscription service that I have tried, and this month I received a box filled with a variety of products. Like many shopping clubs, when you sign up, you fill out a short questionnaire about what sort of brands/products you like. You can purchase one box for $40 or subscribe for $36 a […]
With so many fashion subscription services now available, it’s hard to know which to try. I’ve been eyeing PopSugar’s Must Have box and decided to treat myself with the December box. The $35 box was stuffed with an assortment of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle products worth about $100. What’s inside: Bodum Bistro Double Wall Thermo-Glass […]
This week’s IFB Project asks bloggers to post about their winter beauty routines. Here’s a roundup of some of my favorite products. Hands My hands were really dry this summer, so I went on the hunt for a good hand cream. L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream made my hands look human again. It’s a bit […]
The pursuit of the perfect lip gloss is never ending. Too sticky. Too Sheer. Too pigmented. I’ve found some favorites which include M.A.C., Bobbi Brown, and Mary Kay, but who wants to spend double digits on a microscopic tube of color? Enter essence, a brand I found tucked away as an obscure endcap in Ulta. […]

It’s impossible to follow beauty trends and not see something about bb creams. These beauty balms have swept the industry into a frantic search for the perfect formula. I’ve tried three different brands and thought it would be interesting to do a face off. I used a handful of my favorite products paired them with […]
This week’s IFB Project is all about nail art. One of my favorite looks is the galaxy manicure because I can use a bunch of different colors and not stress about being precise. Abstract layers of polish are applied with a sponge until the galaxy takes shape on your nail. If you are new to […]
