But the beauty is in the walking — we are betrayed by destinations.

I love spring. I get a thrill watching nature awaken. However, spring has been slow to come this year. The trees are not quite ready to say goodbye to their deep, winter nap. Thankfully, the grass is green, and here and there a brave daffodil or tulip lifts its head. I was going to take a picture of the daffodils in the front yard. Last week, they looked so beautiful. Today, they look like they want to run away and hide. I fear that May might turn out to be the rainy month April was not, and I will have to walk on the treadmill and not in the park. Although, that might be alright. The other day I was out walking and nearly stepped on a dead squirrel. Shudder.
While spring is still struggling to make itself known, there is no reason your feet can’t go flower crazy.

I’ve been blogging consistently since 2009, and I still enjoy blogging, but something has changed. It’s not writer’s block. I’m not sure what it is, but I don’t seem to be the only one in this slump. This year there has been a lot of discussion about the death of blogging. The blog is dead, […]

It seems impossible to ignore that festival season is upon us. Since your festival attire is not complete without a floral crown, I dug through […]

Happy Over the weekend, I went with my brothers to see Muppets Most Wanted. Despite Josh Groban’s cameo being my favorite part of the movie, I’ve somehow managed to get this song stuck in my head. This year I have been trying to eat healthier, which means I have not been baking as much as I have in the past. While cutting back on the sweets has allowed me to experiment with other recipes, sometimes a girl just has to make cookies. Yesterday, a terrible chocolate craving forced me into the […]
Smile, though your heart is aching Smile, even though it’s breaking When there are clouds in the sky You’ll get by… –“Smile” I’m not a fan of carnations. Too often used in cheap bouquets overwhelmed with baby’s breath, carnations are easy to write off as the flower of the thoughtless husband, the one too busy […]
