As I celebrate 10 years of blogging this month, I must admit that blogging has taken a backseat in my life. And, that’s okay. There was a time when I couldn’t imagine not posting several times a week, but 10 years later, I don’t want to be chained to my computer all day. Instead, I’m acting in commercials, prepping to compete at the Ms. United States Pageant, and volunteering at my local community theatre. I, also, have a lot more time for reading.

Grab your coffee and nestle in for Weekend Ramblings Vol. 4

    Books…

The Modern Mrs. Darcy Summer Reading Guide is helping me decide what to read this summer. I recently finished The Last Romantics and Waiting For Tom Hanks. I’m looking forward to reading Ayesha At Last as soon as my library hold comes in.

    Music…

I have no idea why I like this song, but I can’t help but smile when I watch the music video.

    Work…

I’ve spent the last few weeks working backstage on a local production of Newsies, and the show was fantastic. Definitely the best community theatre production I have ever seen, and it was fun to watch the show every night from the wings.

This week I, also, had a few auditions and got to do some background acting at the zoo. Can I just say that the Detroit Zoo has the best penguin exhibit. It’s inspired by Sir Ernest Shackleton’s Antarctic expedition and should not be missed.

    Streaming…

When I have time to watch TV, I’m streaming Doctor Who on Amazon Prime. If I like something, I will watch it many, many times. I’m currently rewatching Season 2, and it’s so much better than the last few seasons of the show. The last two Doctors have not been my favorites…

    Shopping…

I’m taking advantage of summer sales and am buying some things for my trip to Las Vegas. I scored some great deals at Vera Bradley’s online sale and am excited to put my new weekender bag to good use.

    Baking…

What to do with a bowl full of strawberries about to go bad? Bake Smitten Kitchen’s Strawberry Cake, of course.

Wow 10 year os blogging is impressive. With so many exciting things going on in your life, it’s no wonder you don’t want to spend your time in front of the computer right now.

Oh my gosh Old Town Road was just hitting Europe as I was leaving. All of my kids were already playing it on repeat here, but now it’s everywhere apparently πŸ™‚

I really do love the song “Old Town Road”; I need to watch the video though. Working at the zoo would have been fun, and I’m so curious about this penguin exhibit now. I LOVE penguins. Happy 10 years blogging – that’s fantastic! πŸ™‚

I’ve been struggling with the Doctors myself. I just miss Matt Smith, I suppose.
      Happy 10 years! I’m at 9.
