Welcome to the July edition of Glossies Made Me Do It, a monthly series I am co-hosting with Lauren of Shooting Stars Mag! We are sharing our favorite magazines and what we learned from them. Books, beauty, food, you name it – it’s all fair game in our series. Plus, we’d love for you to join us!

It is a truth universal acknowledged that I’ll never see the end of my TBR list if I keep adding books to it. And, yet, here I am posting about what I’m adding to my TBR list.
First up on my list is Because Internet: Understanding the New Rules of Language by Gretchen McCulloch. According to the July 2019 issue of Real Simple, this book traces how the Internet has changed the way we communicate.

This month’s issue of Good Housekeeping, also, has some suggestions for summer reads.
Recursion: A Novel by Blake Crouch is billed as a sci-fi “epic page-turner”, while Elizabeth Gilbert’s latest novel City of Girls: A Novel is landing a spot on my TBR list despite the fact that I hated The Signature of All Things…

What did glossies make you do this month?
P.S. If you liked this post, you might, also, enjoy How I Track My Reading!

Because Internet sounds really amazing & I bet I’d come out of it just sad to see how technology has hurt our society.
The Gifted School I would buy just for the design lol. And that book about the internet sounds interesting. It is kind of scary how the internet and social media has changed things.

Because Internet does sound interesting, I might put it on my list. Though it takes me a long time to get through a book, I am making a more of an effort to read!

All of these look like interesting reads! I was hoping to have more time to read this summer, but it isn’t happening as much as I would like.
I can’t remember the last time I opened a magazine. Maybe 2-3 months ago. I think it was an article about body positivity that I remember most from flicking through. I have been looking for titles to pick up so I’ll check these out. I feel like I keep coming across mixed reviews when it comes to Elizabeth Gilbert’s new novel. Not sure if I want to go down that route just yet.
